● Donate Securities, Stocks or Mutual Funds You may be able to donate shares of securities and realize additional tax savings if they have appreciated since you acquired them. Begin by contacting CSPA by email: info@CoastsideStateParks.org

● Donor-Advised Funds Sometimes referred to as Charitable Gift Funds, are tax-advantaged investments for Charitable Giving. They may hold cash, appreciated assets or investments that have been held for a year or more. You can grant to a charity at any time. Please consult your tax advisor.

● IRA If you’re age 70.5 or older, a QCD (Qualified Charitable Distribution) from your retirement account may be a way to benefit CSPA. While it’s not tax deductible, there’s no income tax due on the distribution. Check with your retirement administrator to confirm the legal requirements. Some accounts support this online.

● IRA Older than 73? Donate tax free with an RMD (Required Minimum Distribution). Traditional IRAs may require a distribution be taken by April 1 of each year after you turn 73. A donation could be tax free when made directly to CSPA. Some accounts provide RMD-valid checkbooks. Consult your tax advisor to confirm the legal requirements.

● Legacy Gift A charitable bequest, depending upon the tax laws, could reduce the estate tax burden on your heirs, especially from IRA accounts. Please consult a financial advisor, and for more information please email info@CoastsideStateParks.org.
